Pathology Services
The Pathology Services unit at the Institute of Child Health (ICH) provides accurate, timely, and comprehensive diagnostic support for pediatric care. With a strong focus on quality, precision, and child-centered laboratory services, the department plays a vital role in disease diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment planning across a wide range of clinical specialties.
Advanced Pediatric Diagnostic & Laboratory Support
Since its inception, this department has been carrying tests of various clinical samples of patients for hematology, clinical pathology, cytology and histology. Stalwarts like Late Prof. N C Dey and Late Prof. P C Sengupta internationally acclaimed scientists in Kala-azar research, have structured the department. Thereafter, the department has been modernized to include Transasia XN 350 5-part analyzer and 3 part XN 330 analyzer; Sysmex CA 50 coagulometer and state of the art Olympus microscopes. Leica microtome has been installed for section cutting to make histopathology work better.
